General Information:

The main purpose of the ARW is to bring together experts working on various aspects of ecology for a critical look to a broad range of problems related to environment and climate change and its various impacts, including impacts on security and economy. Central focus of the meeting will be discussion of the above problems in the context of Central Asian ecology, economy and security.

Central Asia is a region having a broad variety of environmental problems with serious influence to the economy, security and health care of its countries. Among others most serious ecological problems affecting to the development of all Central Asian regions are water-related problems.

An important issue of the above environmental problems is their impact on the regional economy, social situation and security. As is well known, the main contribution to the regional economy comes from agriculture. Increasing of difficulties related with water deficiency, soil salinization, desertification of the land and climate changing lead to considerable complications in the agricultural sector making it ineffective.

Participation of numerous experts from various ecology-related areas as key speakers would generate discussions with a great opportunity for cross fertilization of ideas and approaches.

A special focus of the ARW is to discuss possibilities for using the achievements of the developed countries experience in solving ecological problems in Central Asia . In this context possible ways for strengthening of collaboration between western Central Asian and other Partner countries environmental scientists will be discussed.

A separate purpose of the workshop will be encouraging of young scientists working on the above area via providing them opportunity for discussions with the well-know experts participating at the conference.
