Geo-Ontology Models for Spatial Uncertainty
Project Goals

Spatial data are approximations of reality, and the errors they contain may have serious implications for related geoprocessing activities. Users of spatial data generally have a limited understanding of how errors in data affect their particular applications. This problem becomes especially critical when data from multiple sources, concerning multiple themes, are combined (data fusion) for sophisticated data analysis. We seek to address this by developing a systematic approach to embed spatial data error handling within data distribution and geoprocessing.
